This is the third movie about
Jason Bourne - An undercover agent that is trying to find his
real identity and his role in the spying game. The first movie -
The Bourne
Identity came in 2002 and the second -
The Bourne
Supremacy came in 2004. It is not entirely necessary to have
seen the prior movies (I actually have forgotten a lot about the
first one) but it helps to understand some of the story.
Bourne, trying to reveal and
remember his real self, is caught in a never ending chase by CIA
agents from a top secret branch when he at the same time is
hunting down key persons that was responsible for his part in
this operation in order to get some answers.
If you are going to see just one
action movie this year, you definitely have to pick this one.
This movie has a very high pace from the beginning to the end
with few quiet moments. It certainly keeps your pulse turned up
a notch the whole time. Perhaps it is because the way the movie
is shot - the camera seems to be part of the action and
sometimes it gets hard to follow what's happening, but always in
a good way. If you have a tendency to get car sick, you may have
to take a pill before seeing the movie.
The plot is centered around high
tech surveillance combined with cold blooded assassins, or
assets as they are called in the film. This movie could easily
get caught up in the technical stuff but it never does. The high
tech utilities are always kept in the background very well
balanced with the acting, car chases, shootouts and stunts.
