2007-05-20 Charlotte's Web (2006)

A movie in the family/drama genre where a little girl adopts a weak pig just moments before it is about to be killed by the girls father because it is to small and weak. The movie centers around the pig, who gets the name Wilbur, his animal friends on a farm and the humans on the farm. Charlotte is a spider that also lives in the barn together with the other animals and she soon gets a central role in the movie.

The animals can talk to each other and obviously understand what humans say but they cant talk to the humans. The animation's of the animals are very good and it is hard to see what is real and what isn't. There is also quite a lot of humor in the movie, mainly delivered by the rat and the two crows.

The main theme and the message of the movie, at least as I understood it, is that we should look closer around us in our daily lives and then we will notice all the little and big miracles that are always happening. We should also appreciate the friendship from people (or animals) around us, you never know when you might need them. And, of course, never give up hope. All in all a nice movie. My 12 and 10 year old kids liked it very much. We watched it with English audio and Swedish subtitles so my 8 year old got tired of it after a while. I give this movie a rating of 8 out of 10.
