#5 2007-08-22 You can
get what you want You actually can get what you want - within reasonable
limits, that is. And it doesn't matter if you want something
material, happiness, wealth, health or whatever. You just have
to focus on your wishes and try to imagine how life would be if
you had them. Yes - I have seen the movie "The
Secret" and know about the universal "Law of Attraction" as
the creators of the book/movie calls it but I don't think it has
anything to do with some mysterious powers of the universe.
Of
course, one could call the human brain a mysterious power,
because all that is happening takes place in our own mind. Our
brain is a wonderful creation that continuously makes all kinds
of decisions of how we should react to our surroundings, ranging
from very small insignificant ones to large, life changing ones.
The majority of the decisions that we make takes place in the
subconscious parts of our mind. Granted, those decisions have
mostly nothing to do with our wishes. Instead they are small
insignificant choices such as exactly when to raise your arm in
order to scratch your nose, when to take a sip of that cold beer
or when to start laughing at a joke. Things that we don't really
think about but do anyway. However, every decisions or path that
we take is weighted against a lot of factors in the brain. One
of those factors is our wishes. This means that everything we
do, every choice we make, is biased towards those wishes, to get
us closer to our goal or dream. If the decision making process
in the brain has several options where one is leaned a little
bit more in favor of fulfilling our dream, and any negative
consequences of this choice is low enough to be affordable,
according to our own personal standards, the brain will choose
the option that most likely leads you closer to our dream. Of
course it will. Why shouldn't it?
But are the small insignificant decisions really that
important to get us where we want on an entirely different
level? I think they are, just because we make so many of them
every day. At the end of the day, even if a very small
percentage of those choices have been affected by our wishes, it
has taken us a small step closer to them, doing it more and more
likely making a wish come true.
The reason why we periodically should focus or think about
our desires is because most of the small decisions takes place
in the subconscious level in our mind. By thinking about the
wishes we actually program our brain and makes the whishes a
bigger and more important factor of all the inputs used in the
decision making process.
This is how the "Law of attraction" really works and this is
also the reason that you can't use it to win the lottery. It
also explains why it takes some time to make your wishes come
true.
