#1 2007-03-27 Time travel

Time traveling will only be possible in one direction - forward in time and always at the speed of one second per second. One second is a relative concept, though, and it may be affected by factors in the environment where the time is measured. Such factors may be absolute speed and gravitation, to name some. The object that is subjected to those factors will still always perceives the flowing of time at a constant rate. Two different objects, subjected to different environments, my perceive the rate of time flow for the other object as being slower or faster than that of itself.

How do I know that time traveling backward in time won't be possible? Of course I can't say for sure but one substantial evidence would be the lack of visitors from the future.

Another possibility is that time traveling backward in time can be done but in order to go back in time you also have to move in space to the absolute location for the destination at that particular time. The Earth is in constant motion. And how is that location calculated? And absolute to what? The center of the universe? And perhaps the universe is also moving relative to some other absolute location... In fact, it may be this that makes time traveling utterly useless and therefore practically impossible.
