Jack is back with season 6 of 24. With more thrills, shootouts, car chases,
explosions and screwed up family life than ever. You just got to love
it.
One thing I find strange though is that if season 1 was
a day from the (then) present day (2001), and each new season appears to
be 2 to 3 years after the previous season, season 6 should take place
around 2015. Perhaps even later since season 1 might be set in the close
future (from 2001). Although about 10 years from now, we should se signs
of the future. This should be especially notable for cars, cell
phones, computers and software, but it looks just like today. Granted,
the spy satellite technique seems a bit improved but then again it
hasn't changed much since season 1. It is also strange
that it seems to be a thrill point just about every even hour. And when
do they eat? I can't remember seeing anybody ever eating. And isn't it
lucky that there is absolutely nothing happening a couple of
times every hour, just conveniently for a commercial
break. Anyway, it is
really good entertainment.
